What is it?

The TD Music Artist in Residence Program is a professional development program for music artists, sponsored by MacEwan University and the Department of Music, in collaboration with TD Bank Group.

Who is it for?

The TD Music Artist in Residence at MacEwan University Program is designed for artists who face financial barriers or other significant challenges in accessing post-secondary education and professional development opportunities.Guided by the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA), outreach efforts focus on underserved communities to ensure that artists who have historically faced barriers have access to this opportunity.

• Spend time recording in MacEwan University’s state-of-the-art studio.• Gain assets for a promotional package that includes a live performance video.• Perform in a live showcase event at MacEwan University.• Build a clear strategy for the next steps in their music career.• Establish a contact list of industry professionals.• Form a support network with the other participants.

Eligibility

• Artists must be 18+• Artists must be current residents of Alberta.• Available to participate in person in Edmonton during the program dates.• An emerging artist is a creator in the early stages of their professional career, characterized by a developing body of work, increasing recognition through local exhibitions. This term is not defined by age, but rather by the artist’s position on the path toward critical and market acceptance.
